PLAYSTATION FLOW

We made this project for our graphic design class in our 3rd year at ESAG Penninghen.

The project was to make 2 storyboard showing 2 videos that would put out the values of a given brand.
Since Bertrand and I are geeks, we chose Sony from the professor brand list , and focused into the sub-brand Playstation.

First of all Playsation is a powerful tool, therefore our videos had to feel powerful.

Second of all Playsation is historical and iconical. Every time a new console was released it had a great success.
And one thing they really kept on since the Playstation 1 one until the PSVITA nowadays is the X, Square, Circle and Triangle from the joystick.
Therefore we used these iconic symbols and used them as our core objects for the design.

Finally Playstation is entertaining, especially since the console can read DVD & Blurays, it is possible to access the internet, store all of our media and share games and experiences with other gamers. Therefore we decided that our videos had to be energetic, just as entertaining as to be, it can’t be boring.

1st video

The first video is about the experience of a gamer and how it becomes increasingly awesome and it is showed with the appearance of three objects : the toy airplane, the fighter aircraft and the space shuttle, all 3 showing an evolution that goes from good to better until the takeoff to space.

2nd video
The second video is about the historical view of Playstation. We showed where the console comes from with it’s evolution from the PS1 (and some would probably feel a little nostalgic about that ^^) and how it’s totally awesome and powerful now with the Playstation 3.
